Fresno officials are investigating a drowning at Skaggs Bridge and a possible drowning at Huntington Lake.

The drowning happened at San Joaquin River near Skaggs Bridge on Saturday afternoon. Deputies say 20-year-old Kham Tao was swimming with family members when he disappeared. Nearly 20 minutes later, a swimmer found him under water just before 4pm.

Bystanders took the body out of the water and began performing CPR. Emergency officials found the male to be unconcious and he was air lifted to Community Regional Medical Center.

Authorities say he died a short time later. The drowning is still under investigation.

And Fresno County deputies are also investigating a possible drowning at Huntington Lake on Friday.

Deputies received the report that a male had jumped into the lake but didn't return. Investigators searched the area along with a dive team on Friday.

However, officials have stopped the seach for the weekend because of a boating event at the lake.

Witnesses say the vitim is in his 20s and was camping with a church group.
