Timeline of the Debbie Hawk Case


It's been over three year's since Debbie Hawk disappeared from her Hanford home. Here's a look at the timeline leading up to the arrest in the case:

June 12th, 2006:

  • 8:30 p.m. Debbie Hawk talks with friends on the phone
  • 10:15 p.m. Hawk talks with family
  • 1-2 a.m. Neighbors report hearing screams from Hawks home
  • Overnight, Southwest Fresno residents report hearing something suspicious

June 13th, 2006

  • 6 p.m. Hawk scheduled to pick up kids
  • 7:30 p.m. Kid's arrive at Hawk's home, find it in disarray, blood in several rooms
    Debbie Hawk not home; van gone
  • That Night: Police search home of Dave Hawk, Hawk cooperates

June 14th, 2006

  • 12:30 p.m. Police complete initial search of Debbie Hawk's home, allow family inside
  • 3 p.m. Police send out press release with van description

June 15th, 2006

  • 11:30 a.m. Hanford Police recover van on Byrd Ave. in Southwest Fresno, canvas area for several hours.

  • 7 a.m. Hanford Police serve search warrant at home of Dave Hawk; they stay for 7 hours.

June 26th, 2006

  • Hanford Police admit they have searched Dave Hawk's home several times.
  • Admit they are looking at bank accounts
  • Admit they have served a half a dozen warrants

June 27th, 2006

  • Police say they are looking at the Hawk's custody battle
  • Have up to 100 leads
  • Confirm the blood in residence it Debbie Hawk's

August 13th, 2006

  • Friends of Debbie Hawk hold weekend rally, where they pass out flyers

August 21st, 2006

  • Body found near Mendota is confirmed not to be that of Debbie Hawk

August 28th, 2006

  • Police say that Joaquin Figueroa is no longer a person of interest in the Debbie Hawk case.

September 23rd, 2006

  • Crowds gather in Downtown Hanford for a chili cook-off to remember Hawk and pass out flyers.

October 30th, 2006

  • Dave Hawk named prime suspect in the disappearance of Debbie Hawk

December 3, 2006

December 7th, 2006

  • Debbie Hawk's Hanford home is put up for sale

May 3rd, 2007

  • Hanford Police search an area near 15th and Lacey Blvd. for item pertaining to the Debbie Hawk case, after received a tip that items were left in the area
  • Nothing is found in search

June 6th ,2007

  • Dave Hawk is arrested on charges of tax evasion, embezzlement, and  child pornography.

June 11th, 2007

  • Dave Hawk is released from jail. Hawk's father posted the $250,000 bond.

June 16th, 2007

  • Friends and family of Debbie Hawk hold a vigil to mark the one-year anniversary of her disappearance.

June 27th, 2007

  • Hawk in court for pre-trial hearing on tax evasion, embezzlement, and child pornography charges
  • Trial delayed for one month

August 2nd, 2007

August 3rd, 2007

  • Dave Hawk's attorney given another 60 days to review his client's case.

October 1st, 2007
