Imagine your doctor being able to clearly visualize the internal structures of your body without any incision or pain. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) utilizes a high-powered magnet, radio waves, and computers to generate detailed images that assist our doctors in obtaining accurate diagnoses for your orthopedic problem. MRI is a noninvasive, painless procedure that involves no radiation and has no known side effects.
At Sierra Pacific Orthopaedic & Spine Center, we strive to bring the latest technology available to assist our doctors and patients with quick and reliable diagnoses. Located on the first floor of the building, the MRI department houses a state-of-the-art General Electric 1.5 Tesla, short-bore MRI unit. MRI exams are tailored specifically to each patient and with the assistance of GE's advanced technology, scan times are dramatically reduced. During your exam, the MRI technologist will be in constant communication through a two-way intercom system.
MRI is the method of choice for imaging the soft tissues of the musculoskeletal system. This includes tendons, ligaments, and cartilage - the structures that are most commonly injured during athletic and traumatic events. MRI can be used for imaging the spine, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, ankle, and foot. We can assure our patients that they will receive the highest quality MRI available as well as the most comforting and friendly service at Sierra Pacific Orthopaedic & Spine Center.
