Body of Central California drowning victim found

FRESNO, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say they've recovered the body of a man who apparently drowned in a Central California lake over the holiday weekend.

Fresno County Sheriff's spokesman Chris Curtice says the man vanished while swimming Friday at Hume Lake, about 60 miles east of Fresno in the Sequoia National Forest.

The Fresno Bee reports (http://bit.ly/1mfvcaO) divers found the body Tuesday in the Sandy Cove area.

The coroner's office identified him as 26-year-old Danny Iglesias, an Anaheim resident who was visiting the area with his family.

Authorities said thick underwater vegetation made the search difficult for divers.

The Hume Lake drowning preceded a Saturday afternoon drowning of 38-year-old Luis Ortiz at Shaver Lake. Authorities said Monday that they had found Ortiz's body.
