Search to Resume at Sunrise for Missing Swimmers in Local Lakes

Search crews plan to head back out at sunrise, to look for two swimmers, missing in lakes near the Central Valley.

The most recent case happened Saturday afternoon near Shaver Lake.

Fresno County Sheriff's Deputies were called around 4:30 p.m., to the area below the Shaver Lake Dam.

Crews will also return to Hume Lake Sunday morning to search for a Southern California Man who has been missing in the water since Friday.

By-standers and staff from the nearby Hume Lake Christian Camp immediately searched for the man after he disappeared.

Family members say he had been struggling in the water and called for help before vanishing, about 100 feet from shore.

Sheriff's Deputies will only say he is 27 years old and is from Anaheim.

Family members told deputies the man knew how to swim and was in good physical condition.

Crews have struggled with the search because underwater plants keep wrapping around their scuba gear.

Rescue crews were also busy Saturday along the Kings River, near Sanger, pulling a man-- and those who tried to help him—out of the water.

The Fresno County Sheriff's Boat Patrol got the call for help around 4:30 p.m.

A swimmer was stranded at Winton Park.

Three people had jumped in, hoping to help the man.

They were all safely pulled from the water.
