UPDATE: 13-Year-Old Boy Missing In Sierra-Nevada Mountains Located

Fresno County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Units, assisted by the California Highway Patrol Helicopter have located the missing 13-year-old boy in the mountains east of Florence Lake.

The boy is reported to be in good condition.



Fresno Sheriff's deputies are looking for a missing 13-year-old boy.


He was reported missing Wednesday night in the Hutchinson Meadow area near Florence Lake.

Sam is the boy's name.

He was hiking with his family yesterday.

He got separated from them around 11 Wednesday morning.

Sam is 5’5”, 110 lbs.

He's wearing black sweats, an off-white shirt, and was carrying a red backpack.

Deputies say he does have prior hiking experience.
