Jewelry Store Robbery Stopped After Employee Pulls Shotgun

Posted: Updated:
FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

Police are looking for two men who tried to rob a jewelry store Friday but were scared off when an employee pulled out a shotgun.

The would-be thieves acted like customers to gain access into Marlene's Jewelry on Kings Canyon and Clovis Avenue in southeast Fresno. When they got inside, the two men pulled out guns.

Police say the owner and another employee ducked down, but an employee in the back of the store pulled out a shotgun and scared the men off before they could get away with any jewelry.

If you have any information that could help police identify the two men, you are asked to call Crimestoppers at 559-498-STOP.
