Man Killed In Fresno Hours After Getting Out Of Jail

FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

Fresno police are looking for the person responsible for killing a man just hours after he was released from jail.

Officers say the attack happened just before 1:00 a.m. Thursday morning outside a home on Dayton and Warren in the area of Shields and West in Fresno.

When officers got there, they found the 37–year–old man lying in the road.

Police say the man had been in jail for a year and was just released Wednesday.

They say he went to the home of a relative to get some property back and that's when he got into an argument with a relative's boyfriend.

Witnesses reported hearing a loud pop.

Officers are not releasing the name of the man killed or his attacker.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Fresno Police Department.
