Amber Alert: 2-Year-old Taken In Los Angeles

Posted:
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (KMPH) -

An Amber Alert was issued out of the Los Angeles area Friday morning because of a parental abduction.

Officials say the mother of 2-year-old Edwin Vargas was strapping him in his car seat around 6:30 a.m. when 27-year-old Abraham Vargas took the child.

They say he sneaked up behind her, knocked her out of the way and stole the orange Nissan Quest minivan with tinted windows and body damage on the driver's side.

The CA license plate number is 7CIN189.

Police say he also simulated a weapon.

If you spot the vehicle or the suspect, please call 911.
