Posted:
FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

Clovis Police are searching for a man accused of stealing high powered ammunition. The thief was caught on camera taking two boxes of bullets from the Clovis 'Walmart' on Shaw Avenue.

Officers say the man stole the ammunition from a locked case. The video shows the crook put one box of bullets in his pant leg and another box in the waist band of his jeans.

Detectives say a box of .30 caliber and a box of .223 rifle bullets were stolen from the store.

Police are still trying to figure out how the man got into the locked case. Surveillance footage shows the thief tap on the case's doors and check the locks, but he didn't break the glass.

Detectives say the crook took off in a white work van with a cargo rack and they're hoping someone recognizes him or the van.

Clovis Police are looking for any information about the man caught on camera. If you know who he is please call Crime Stoppers at 559–498–STOP(7867).
