Drive-By Shooting Investigation in Orange Cove

UPDATE: A Dinuba man has been arrested for his involvement in a drive-by shooting that occurred on May 11th in Orange Cove.

Javier Alcantar, 21, was arrested in Reedley last Thursday by U.S. Marshals.

A second man involved in the shooting, 47-year-old Fabian Ramirez, was arrested back in June.

Both men are in jail on charges of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.


Doctors are working to save the life of a man, who was hit in a drive-by shooting Sunday afternoon in Orange Cove.

It happened just before 5 p.m. in the 1100 block of Railroad Avenue.

The Orange Cove Police Department found the man in the rear of a white SUV, suffering from a gunshot wound. 

Fresno County Deputies helped with the case, and say the victim was initially conscious but then deteriorated.

He began going in and out of consciousness.  He was flown to Community Regional Medical Center.. 

Anyone who has any information on this case is asked to immediately contact the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office at 600-3111.
