Celebrate Earth Day With A Selfie

Today, April 22nd, is Earth Day. For 44 years Planet Earth has been the center of the celebration with more than 190 countries working to be good stewards of the earth. Countries are promoting conservation, environmental friendly initiatives, and climate policies.

Earth Day was established on this day in 19–70 to mark the modern environmental movement. Since then, the population of Earth has grown from three billion to seven billion people.

China is the number one emitter of greenhouse gas emissions followed by the US.

NASA is celebrating Earth Day with selfies. Just take a picture of yourself then post it on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google–Plus or Flicker as #globalselfie

NASA will then use those photos to create a mosaic image of Earth.
