Caught On Camera: Thieves Steal Clothes on Easter

Posted:
Clovis, CA - Clovis Police need your help to track down a man and woman caught on camera, stealing clothes from Sears.

The theft happened Sunday afternoon.

The couple walked around the store for about an hour, through the men’s, children’s, linens and hardware departments.

All the while, video shows the two helping themselves merchandise including, "Jeans, stacks of jeans," says Janet Stoll-Lee, spokesperson for the Clovis Police Department.

"She put them in a blanket she picked from another department."

At one point, the man is seen putting on a pair of jeans he took from the store, over the pants he was already wearing.

He even walked past a worker, with the tags in clear view.

He later ripped off the tags.

Eventually, the man walked out the eastern exit, still wearing the jeans.

Then, the camera caught the woman rounding up the goods.

She walked out, followed by workers from the store.

"She then said I have a gun. Thankfully she did not. No one was hurt," says Stoll-Lee.

Stoll-Lee says the woman dropped most of the clothes after threatening the workers, but still made off with about $180 dollars worth of jeans.

The woman then jumped into a red, four-door Chevrolet Cavalier.

If you have any information about the couple, you are urged to call Crime Stoppers at 559-498-STOP (7867), or Clovis Police at 559-324-2556.
