Dancing Into The Record Books? Folklorico Festival Ends in Clovis

It's now in the hands of Guinness.

Hundreds danced their hearts out Sunday afternoon, to the sounds of traditional Mariachi music at the Clovis West High School campus, in hopes of setting a new world record for the "Most Folklorico Dancers Dancing."

It was the culmination of the annual Danzantes Unidos Festival.

The three-day festival is hosted by Danzantes Unidos de California, and uses music and dance to celebrate the Mexican culture.

Some dancers rehearsed in groups, while others learned the steps online.

They danced for about 10 minutes straight.

The current world record is 458 dancers.
It was set in Guadalajara, Mexico, in September of 2011.
