Fresno Grizzlies: Locals Audition For Emcee & Announcer Gigs

FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

A group of Fresno hopefuls are wondering if they have what it takes to emcee for the Grizzlies.

Auditions were held Sunday afternoon at Chukchansi Park for a public address announcer and an emcee.

This is the first time organizers have held an open, on-field audition.

The aspiring hosts used their best announcing voices to impress the judges.

Organizers say they are looking for people with charisma, good diction, and high energy.

For some, the gig is the first step toward a career in hosting.

"Being an on-field emcee that is something I am very much interested in. I love being in front of people, I love talking to people ... it's great" said Imri Doyle, a candidate for the emcee position.

The winners will be announced in the coming week.

The first day on the job for the emcee is slated for April 11th.

He or she will work during all 70 homes games.
