Sex Sells Says Half Naked Barista, Neighbors Angry

Posted:
CLOVIS, Calif. (KMPH) -

A new coffee shop in Clovis is raising eyebrows, and the temperature of some of those who live near it.

Neighbors are upset with bikini–clad high heeled baristas, who have become just as much the attraction as the coffee they serve.

If the lack of clothing doesn't make you blush, maybe the names of the drinks will, some of them are named, 'blonde porn star', or 'Heavenly Bliss.'

Candice Eslick and her family live in the neighborhood behind the coffee shop. Eslick says she doesn't want kids looking at half–naked women.

Eslick says, "It's not about whether it's a legal business or not. It's 'do we have any morals?' I moved to Clovis because the city tends to have a little bit of higher standard."

She's now heading up a petition to get the business out, despite being warned by city leaders.

Eslick says, ""I was specifically told by Clovis that it would do me no good at all. I could go to city council meeting and I could bring the people if I wanted to, but it doesn't change the fact that it's not against the law to have a coffee shop in Clovis."

The manager of "Bottom's Up Espresso", Stephanie Kivley says she and the owner, Alexandria Ireland have heard it before.

Kivley says, "I've dealt with it in Washington and pretty much all they can do is how much to cover."

But Eslick says she's not giving up, and will continue to collect signatures to present to city council members.

How would you feel about only working three days a week? One of the world's richest people now says we should *all* be doing it. The three–day work week would be offset by longer work hours. Slim proposes an 11 hour work day, and a later retirement of age 70 or 75.
