Selfies- Who Takes More? Answer May Surprise You

As soon as you log into a social networking site like Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, chances are you're going to see a selfie.

But how is the "selfie" trend impacting our society?

Researchers found that women take significantly more selfies than men. But wait! There's more to this story. Once women hit 40 — the trend reverses itself. For people age 40 and over — it's the men who snap more selfies.

But, this may not come as much of a surprise - the median age of selfie snappers turned out to be about 24.

Researchers say the selfie has become more than just self promotion. It is also about creative self expression and has turned into a communal and social practice. Case in point – the selfie seen ‘round the world from Ellen DeGeneres at the Oscars. It even shut down Twitter for a moment.
