Washington, DC (PRWEB) February 28, 2014
The Disabled Veterans National Foundation (http://www.dvnf.org), a nonprofit veterans service organization that focuses on helping men and women who serve and return home wounded or sick after defending our safety and our freedom, recently announced that they will attend the 2014 Marine Corps Wounded Warrior Trials in Camp Pendleton.
The purpose of the trials is for all wounded warriors to have the opportunity to participate and compete in sports. Not only are they competing, but they are also building strong relationships with their fellow wounded warriors.
DVNF is attending to support these men and women while they compete. They plan to bring water and some bedding materials for the athletes, since they are only provided cots throughout the Warrior Trials. In addition, the organization will be offering some program outreach on site.
This event is such an awesome experience for both spectators and wounded warrior participants, said DVNF CEO, Joseph VanFonda (SgtMaj Ret.). I have had the chance to attend the Trials numerous times, and to see the camaraderie and competitive spirit of those wounded or injured in defense of our countrywords cant describe how truly remarkable that is.
VanFonda stated that the DVNF staff is excited to have the opportunity to meet and connect with wounded warriors that have served our country, and are looking forward to the experience. Stay tuned for updates at the trials through our social media websites.
