New 'Polar Vortex' Causing Travel Problems Across the Country

Posted:

It seems like another polar vortex is ready to cause problems for a lot of people around the country.

A blizzard hit North Dakota, causing drivers to have a hard time.

High winds and heavy snow are expected to stick around through most of the week.

Bismarck could pick up another inch of snow this week, but that inch of snow could drastically lower visibility on the roads.

The northeast is bracing for this storm.

So if you've got a flight scheduled to head back east this week, you might want to call ahead and double check your status.

Anywhere from 1,500 to 2,000 have been cancelled because of winter weather.

That's according to flightaware.com.

Parts of the northeast are expecting 6 to 10 inches of snow, and a winter storm warning has been issued in New York, effective through Wednesday morning.
