Homeowner Interrupts Burglary in Visalia

Posted: Updated:
VISALIA, Calif. (KMPH) -

A Visalia homeowner found an unwelcome surprise when he went to check on his rental property Saturday: a car in the driveway and two strangers walking out the house.

Visalia Police say that's when the suspected burglars attempted to drive off and the homeowner blocked them using his vehicle. Eventually the suspects were able to drive away from the property, but the homeowner followed them for several blocks.

Police say the thieves then parked the car in the area of Encina Street and Kaweah Avenue and took off on foot.

A perimeter was set up in the area and police took one of the suspected burglars, Marlo Parraz, 30, into custody. He was booked on charges of residential burglary and vandalism.

Police believe the suspects entered the house on the 1300 block of west Iris Avenue through the attic

They are still looking for the second suspect.
