Man Accused of Stealing An Ambulance in Fresno

A man is now at the Fresno County Jail after police say, he stole an ambulance.

It happened around 7:30 p.m., in the area of Highway 180 and Hughes.

Fresno Police say the ambulance was on a call, and left running, when 27-year-old Arturo Jimenez jumped in and drove off.

Thankfully, no one was inside.

The ambulance had a tracking device, so officers were able to track its whereabouts.

An officer spotted it about three miles away, at Kearney and Hayes.

Jimenez was pulled over and was arrested without incident.

Officers believe he as driving drunk.

He has been booked for DUI and Vehicle Theft charges.
