S.W.A.T. Standoff in Hilmar Ends With Arrest

Posted: Updated:

A Hilmar man is now under arrest after leading Merced County deputies on a standoff Saturday afternoon.

Deputies were called to a home in the area of Griffith road and Williams avenue around 4:00 p.m.

Family members told officers 23–year–old Anthony Cabrajal got into a fight with them.

They said that at one point, he threatened them with a gun.

Family members left the house for their safety.

Deputies thought Carbajal was barricaded in the home.

They later figured out he left, before they arrived.

Deputies were able to reach Carbajal, and convinced him to return to the home and turn himself in.

He has been booked on at least two counts of making felony threats and waving a gun.
