Fresno State Fans Flock to Vegas To Watch Bulldogs Take On USC

Fresno State fans showed up to the "Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl," ready for battle. People were decked out in red; representing the Valley and their Bulldogs.

"I like that. The wave is strong. It shows the bigger schools that we aren't afraid of nobody. Our support is strong, wherever we go. It's always been that way. God dogs!" said Shine Nito, Bulldog fan from Porterville.

The game kicked off to a good start for Fresno State and its fans. It was all high fives as the bulldogs battled the team they dreamed of meeting in the Las Vegas bowl.

The Bulldogs fought hard, they put forward their best defense against the Trojans.

By halftime, the scoreboard read 35/6 for USC, but it didn't stop the fans from cheering on their underdogs.

"It feels so good, we have a longer drive than USC fans and we are out here, we have the heart and we are willing to do it," said Bulldog fan, Carolyn Kidd.

The Bulldogs showed to have a strong bite, as they closed the gap to just 18 points with another touchdown in the second half.

The score sent the crowd into a cheering frenzy.

But the second half comeback never materialized. None the less, the boys in red and white left the field like warriors and gentlemen.

"We had a great run. I am very proud of Fresno state. We did exactly what we wanted to do and that was to capture the Mountain West Championship, and we are still the Mountain West Champions," said Jeff Hightower from Stockton, California.

More than 42,000 fans attended Saturday's game. It was the second largest turnout in the history of the Royal Purple Bowl.
