MADERA, Calif. (KMPH) -

Fire and Police agencies deliver Santa, gifts and holiday cheer

Santa Claus is coming to visit patients at Children's Hospital Central California on Thursday, Dec. 19 at 10 a.m. Instead of eight tiny reindeer, the fire truck Santa rides in will be escorted by a dozen not-so-tiny Fresno Police and California Highway Patrol motorcycle officers.

Joining Santa Claus will be dozens of firefighters and law enforcement officers representing CalFire, Clovis Fire Dept., Fresno Fire Dept, Fresno Police Dept. and the California Highway Patrol. It's rumored that some elves may accompany the visitors.

The group, wearing reindeer antlers and Santa hats, meets some children at the main entrance and sings carols inside the main lobby. They then divide up to visit patients throughout the hospital and present toys.

This annual visit is a tradition at the hospital, appreciated and enjoyed not only by patients but also by physicians and staff.
