A new study finds a possible link between marijuana use and schizophrenia.
Scientists looked at nearly 100 schizophrenic teens. After MRI scans, researchers found the schizophrenic teens who admitted to having smoked marijuana showed shrinking in the regions of the brain connected with memory.
The same group also scored lower in memory tests, compared to the schizophrenic patients who had never used pot.
The study does not prove that smoking pot can cause schizophrenia, but suggests that marijuana use can cause changes in the brain.
