Disney Dance Mats Left In Fresno Motel

FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

Who would steal then stash hundreds of Disney dance mats for a gaming console at a local motel?

That's what members of the Fresno Police Department want to know.

Early Tuesday morning, a cleaning crew made that unusual discovery.

The manager of the Crossland Economy Studios along Shaw Avenue near Valentine in Fresno refused to talk.

However, several people staying at the motel say they saw a man, woman and a teenage boy packing two cars with the mats. Witnesses say they left several boxes behind.

Judy Manfredo is staying at the motel.

She says, "They were packing their personal stuff. Then one backed out and then the other backed out and they left all these boxes. I thought that is really odd."

Police say more boxes were discovered inside a third story room of the motel.

Police say usually after 90–days the property can be claimed by who ever found it.

However, because they are likely stolen, the department could auction them off, or even donate them to a non–profit organization.

The department has also put out a statewide bulletin, asking other law–enforcement agencies if these items were stolen in their areas.
