Health Study: Vitamins Are A Waste Of Money

Multivitamins are a waste of your money.

That's according to a new, strongly worded editorial in leading medical journal.

The controversial report is based on three studies which found taking supplements offers no benefit when it comes to preventing cardiovascular disease, cancer, or a second heart attack.

It says those studies also show that multi–vitamins don't help you live longer or improve brain function in men older than 65.

But an expert on nutrition says those in the study lived healthier lifestyles than the average American but adds, most Americans don't have a healthy diet, and therefore don't get the vitamins and minerals they need.

More than half of all adults in the United States takes a multi–vitamin - making it a $12 Billion–a–year business.
