4.0 Earthquake in Kern County Overnight

A magnitude 4.0 earthquake shook the South Valley overnight.

The U.S. Geological Survey reports the quake was centered 15 miles northwest of Lost Hills in Kern County near the Kings County line.

It hit just before midnight.

The quake had a preliminary magnitude of 4.3, but was later downgraded to 4.0.

Kern County firefighters say there are no reports of damage or injuries.

Some viewers in Visalia tell us they felt it.

Jimmy Ronquillo says, "I thought someone was trying to break in or push the house."

Le Ann Shelley wrote on our KMPH FOX26 Facebook page, "I think it almost threw me out of bed."
