Park officials announced on Thursday that Tioga and Glacier Point Roads in Yosemite National Park will be closed through next spring.
The announcement comes after recent winter-like storms have dumped heavy snow throughout the park.
The park will remain open and snow removal equipment will work to keep roads clear, but Tioga and Glacier Point Road will not, and will remain closed until weather allows them to be reopened in the sprint.
All motorists traveling into higher elevations are advised to carry tire chains and chains are required in the park during winter months, even if the vehicle is equipped with four-wheel drive.
Call 209-372-0200 for road and weather conditions in the park 24-hours a day.
