A new study finds taking probiotics during pregnancy or infancy may help children with bowel and/or skin conditions.
Researchers looked at more than 4,000 children in different countries who were given probiotics within the first year of life, or during pregnancy.
They found no sign of harm, but did find improvements in bowel and skin conditions.
Researchers originally thought this study would show an improvement in child asthma but that did not happen. According to this study, probiotics did not help asthma.
