Changes to Twitter and Facebook Today

If you checked Twitter or Facebook messenger on your phone today you probably noticed some changes.

Both are trying to make things easier to direct message friends.

The app is now updated and features a direct link to direct messages in the tab bar – allowing you to send photos in direct messages for the first time.

This update has been in the works for a while and shows that Twitter is putting more emphasis on direct messaging.

First off, this is different from the Facebook app. This update to Facebook Messenger.  It allows you to see your friend's timelines just by tapping their profile picture. You can also make free phone calls.

So basically the app now allows you to make calls and send texts to Facebook friends without using minutes or texts (or even opening your full Facebook page).

This update also helps you message contacts that are not Facebook friends.

Reminder, this uses your data if you are not on wifi.
