Las Vegas Bowl Travel Options Limited For Red Wave

Posted: Updated:
FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

If you are thinking about cheering on your Fresno State Bulldogs in the Las Vegas Bowl, Saturday December 21 make your plans now.

Some red wave faithful are having a difficult time finding direct flights.

Longtime season ticket holder Bud Nestell says the only two plane tickets he found from Fresno to Vegas were $1,600, and they weren't even a direct flight.

Bud Nestell says, "We have to go through Arizona and transfer to LA and it's tough at 800 dollars a ticket and we would have to stay 3 days."

Travel agent Denise Donathan says, "Flights are pretty much sold out, Friday going over the day before the game is already sold out."

Travel agents say they've been scrambling trying to give red wave fans options. However, direct flights, like through Allegiant Air are a tough option because the airline does not fly everyday.

So they say unless you are flexible, good luck.

However, late Monday night, travel agency 'Pro Travel Fresno' announced several packages to get from Fresno to Las Vegas.

The agency is chartering planes and buses.
