It will be another week before about eight-hundred sailors make their way home to Lemoore Naval Air Station from deployment aboard the U.S.S. Nimitz, but right now they're in Hawaii.
The Nimitz sailed into Pearl Harbor Tuesday, just a few days shy of the 72nd anniversary of the Japanese attack that plunged the U.S. into World War Two. The sailors also rendered honors as the carrier passed the U.S.S. Arizona memorial.
Nimitz is in Pearl Harbor for a scheduled port visit on its way home from an eight-and-a-half month deployment with U.S. fleets from the Mediterranean and Arabian seas to the Pacific Ocean.
