Caffeine Overdose Could Kill

When was the last time you complained you had TOO much caffeine? Many of us usually feel like we need more. But a new study says there's such thing as overdosing on caffeine – and that can have terrible effects on your health. It can even, in some really rare cases, lead to death!

The National Institutes of Health says some symptoms of caffeine OD: breathing trouble, convulsions, fever, hallucinations, an irregular heartbeat and dizziness. Again, in extreme cases, it can cause death.

This is possible if you're downing more than 500 to 600 milligrams a day. The average cup of coffee has about 100 milligrams of caffeine.

Doctors recommend no more than about 200 to 300 milligrams a day.
