Citrus Growers Prepare for the Freeze

Citrus growers across the state are getting ready for the freeze.

As Kevan Ramer has said, temperatures are expected to plummet to the mid–20's by Thursday night.

The big chill could damage crops.

So, orange growers are preparing as best as they can.

"It's always a concern, but I think that we've got our protection ready, we've got our crews ready, our water, our wind machines, and I think we'll be alright," says farmer John Gless.

Officials are also warning people to protect their pets and pipes during the freeze.
