Drunk Driver Causes Two Accidents, Injures Two

FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

A drunk driver has been arrested after he went on a mile-long tear through East Fresno.

Police say the man first hit a car at Harvey and Jackson near the Freeway 180 interchange with the 168 and took off. The driver of that vehicle followed the drunk driver as he went north on Maple.

Officers say the drunk driver then ran a red light at Maple and McKinley hitting a pickup truck and pushing it into a traffic signal. Two people in that vehicle were taken to the hospital with injuries.

The drunk driver was not injured in either accident, police say.

He was arrested on charges of felony drunk driving and felony hit and run. Police say the man already had an outstanding warrant for spousal abuse.
