Ellina Abovian

Ellina Abovian joined the KMPH news team in April of 2013.

Ellina is a first generation Armenian. She grew up in Los Angeles, and speaks Armenian, Russian, and French.

She comes to us from KSBY in San Luis Obispo where she worked as Multimedia Journalist. She worked as a one man band; shooting, writing, editing and reporting her stories. "My favorite part of the job is being able to tell a story. Everyone has something that makes their situation unique and I love discovering that."

Ellina realized her love for journalism in 2007 while working for LA2DAY.com as an intern. She went on to earn bachelors degree in Broadcast Journalism from CSULA. While in school she worked in production for CBS Television and hosted an entertainment news show for GEM1TV.

A native to California, Ellina believes there is no better place to live and work. She is thrilled to be here on the Central Valley. "I am honored to join a news team of professionals I can have a great time working with and learning from."

While she is not working, Ellina enjoys movies, reading, traveling, learning to cook and spending time with her family and fiance.
