Tulare Union High Coach Arrested On Suspicion Of DUI

VISALIA, Calif. (KMPH) -

A Tulare Union High School teacher and football coach was arrested Tuesday night for suspicion of DUI.

49-year-old Darren Bennett has been coaching for 18 years and is the most successful coach in Tulare County history.

Coach Bennett has also sent more players to the NFL than any other coach in California.

Bennett was pulled over after being reported by a citizen for driving recklessly in the area of Caldwell and Ben Maddox Way in Visalia.

Following an investigation, Bennett was arrested and booked into the Tulare County Jail.

An additional charge of resisting or delaying a peace officer was charged as a result of Bennett failing to follow officers orders.
