FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

A video of a Fresno firefighter using an oxygen mask to try to save a kitten led to a very useful donation.

Susan Disney, a volunteer with the Fresno Fire Department's Community Emergency Response Team, was so moved by the video that she donated money to supply the department with 42 masks to save animals they rescue on a regular basis.

"They're part of your family and you want to protect them just like you protect any member of your family. If there was a fire at my house, I would like to know that my cat would be rescued and resuscitated if necessary," said Disney.

Fresno Fire spokesman, Koby Johns said, "It's a big deal. It's something our guys and girls do all the time, they try to rescue people's animals, so having the tools to make that easier is a pretty cool thing."
