Newly Ranked Bulldogs Turn Attention to Boise State

FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

Despite being idle this weekend, Fresno State woke up Sunday to find out they're number 25 in the USA Today Coaches Poll. It's the first time the Bulldogs are ranked since September 2008.

Six days from hosting Boise State in the first conference game of the year, it's the first time the 'Dogs will enter that matchup as the group with the better record and higher national ranking since 2005. That's the last time Fresno State beat the Broncos as well.

Head Coach Tim DeRuyter and quarterback David Carr conceded this is the biggest game of the season, but only because it's the next game on the schedule. Both did however talk highly of what the Boise State program's been able to accomplish, and DeRuyter says to be the best you got to knock the best out.
