FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

Fresno is in line to get millions of dollars in grant money to open the Fulton Mall to traffic.

Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx visited Fresno to make the announcement that the Department of Transportation is expected to award Fresno $16 million.

It's not clear how the city will get the rest of the money needed.

Feds say the money will help reconstruct about 11 city blocks to reintroduce traffic lanes, while also maintaining bicycle and pedestrian areas.

The announcement is expected to be made sometime Friday afternoon.
