LAS VEGAS (AP) - Officials say a second California man who tried to stop a vehicle theft in Las Vegas over the weekend has died of his injuries.

Clark County coroner and University Medical Center officials say 31-year-old Felix Brandon Cruz III died a little before 6:30 p.m. Monday.

His brother-in-law, California Highway Patrol Officer Jesus Manuel Magdaleno Jr., was killed in the Sunday morning crash.

The men were from Visalia, Calif.

Police say they were in Las Vegas for Magdaleno's bachelor party when a man started to drive Magdaleno's truck away from a casino valet stand.

Magdaleno jumped into the truck bed with Cruz, but both were thrown out when the pickup crashed.

The alleged driver, 29-year-old James Robert Montgomery of Tustin, Calif., faces felony murder, kidnapping, auto theft and other charges.
