Thief Rips Off College Student's Smart Phone

FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

High-end cell phones have become major targets for thieves.

Thieves, police say, ask to borrow someone's phone and then once it's handed over, the thieves take off.

That's exactly what happened to a student at Fresno City College on Tuesday.

A man asked to use the student's smart phone, then punched the student in the face and fled on foot.

Police ended up finding three guys not far from the campus. Police say they suspected the three of being connected to the violent theft.

One of them was a juvenile who was arrested for robbery.

A second person was taken away for possessing stolen property.
