Wanted Man Involved In Fatal Fresno Crash

FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

A man wanted by police on Wednesday was fleeing a police helicopter when he crashed into an oncoming car, killing the driver.

Police had been searching for Walter McDaniel since 2 p.m. when undercover officers spotted him driving a stolen car with stolen license plates.

McDaniel headed south on Marks Avenue in an attempt to evade a police helicopter that was following the car he was driving from above, police said. 

McDaniel then crashed into an oncoming car. The driver died at the scene of the crash. His name was not released.

A woman and a young boy were inside of the car with McDaniel was driving.
