Extreme Heat Suspected In Two Central Valley Deaths

Posted:

The heat wave that has impacted California has claimed one life this week and possibly a second, health officials said on Thursday.

The State Division of Safety and Health is looking into a report of a farmworker who died on the job in Coalinga.

And in Stanislaus County, a 77-year-old man was found dead Tuesday night  in his mobile home in Ceres.

Officials said the man's air conditioner was not working and the temperature inside of the mobile home was more than 100 degrees.

An autopsy determined the cause of death was heat-combined with other medical conditions.

Excessive heat warnings are in place through Thursday night.
