Car Chase: Fresno Man Jailed For Attempting To Evade Police

Posted:

A 29-year-old Fresno man was arrested Friday morning after he led police on a short chase through Clovis.

Police attempted to pull over Larry Meza early Friday morning in the area of Santa Ana and Peach Avenues.

Meza, police said, was driving his car recklessly. But instead of pulling over, he sped off.

A second officer saw Meza's car around 8 a.m. And again, Meza sped off and a  near 2 -mile car chase down Shaw Avenue ensued.

The car chase ended when officers managed to box Meza in near North Woodrow Avenue.

Police say Meza attempted to ram his way through the car, damaging two cars and two police vehicles in the process.

He was arrested and booked for felony evasion and assault on two police officers and two civilians.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
