Caught On Camera: Kids Break Into Home, 13 & 16 Years Old

VISALIA, Calif. (KMPH) -

People living in a Visalia neighborhood can not believe a 13 and 16 year old are in trouble with the law, accused of burglarizing a home and it was all caught on camera.

Visalia officers say with the help of the video the teens were caught.

Brian Lomsdalen lives in the area. He says, "When I was 13 or 16 years old, that wouldn't even be something that would be thought of. I'm speechless."

The victims say what is so difficult to comprehend. The suspected crooks are actually friends of the family, friends of their son who were over at the house enjoying the evening. The victims add the teens are suspected of stealing an Xbox, and a computer. They took it, placed it across the street under this bush and then took off. Police believe they were going to come back later to retrieve it."

The entire incident has several in the neighborhood now thinking of installing cameras or alarms on their own properties.

Resident Joe Barss says, "When the alarm companies come by on a weekly basis and knock on your door, and you say forget it I have a dog, which should be good enough but it's not, in reality. It does make me think twice you know."

Visalia police say most of the property was recovered and returned.

The teens were booked at juvenile hall on the charges of burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary.
