Gunman On The Loose: Three Men Wounded Merced County Shooting

Posted:

Three men are severely injured Wednesday in a Merced County city.

Merced sheriff's deputies responded to several 911 calls from neighbors in the 7100 block of Grape Avenue in Winton who said they heard up to six gun shots go off.

The shootings began in front a home where a woman was inside with her baby, witnesses told deputies. The woman said the men charged inside her home and continued shooting. The woman ducked out of the way into her bedroom. The woman told deputies that she didn't know any of the men and didn't see their faces.

Detectives have not released much information about the shooter, but they say there may have been more than one.

All three of the injured men were taken to local Merced hospital.
