Crook Leaves Sour Note With Music Store Owner

Posted: Updated:
FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

The owner of the 'American Music Company spent the morning trying to determine what items thieves got away with.

The music store at Fresno and Ashlan Avenues was broken into last Friday.

Fresno police say a late model white pick up truck was involved in the burglary.

Thieves snatched fender guitars and other musical equipment.

Owner Tim McFarland says, "It's a real blow! A set back to have something like this happen. It is a disappointment in the community, not that everyone shares in that but we all live here."

The store has been in Fresno for 33 years.

McFarland says this is only the second time this type of crime has happened.

He says the crooks grabbed several items that he believes will be extremely hard to sell.

Therefore, he hopes their plan may not end on a high note.

McFarland says, "These things make music, and they enrich people's lives. Maybe they understand that, maybe they do not. I don't know if these were musicians. I think they probably had an understanding of the value of some of the things. Maybe they took orders in advanced."

Meanwhile, police hope someone in the community knows who owns the truck.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crimestoppers at (559) 498-STOP.
