Captured: Wanted Serial Robber Arrested In Kingsburg

Posted:
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KMPH) -

A man wanted in connection to a series of robberies was captured by police officers Thursday afternoon at a Kingsburg hotel, authorities said.

Zachary Ward, 32, was arrested at the America's Best Value Hotel in Kingsburg around noon.

Ward is accused of seven robberies dating back to August.

The search for Ward began earlier this month after 32-year-old Willie Murphy was arrested for the armed robbery of eight Fresno businesses.

Detectives pinpointed Ward as the person who taught Murphy how to commit robberies.

Both Ward and Murphy were caught on video surveillance at several of the businesses that they robbed.

Ward was booked into the Fresno County Jail on seven counts of commercial robbery and carjacking.
